Besties since high school, Ash and Sandi love bonding over sisterly things... murder shows... judging trashy
reality TV... speculating how someone could fall for joining a cult. Normal stuff.
So it was a logical step to make a parody reality TV show about cults, for our first attempt at writing together.
AMERICA'S NEXT CULT LEADER was born. And we had so much fun we filmed a teaser/trailer for it (screening soon).
We work well together, and our longtime friendship has created a helpful shorthand which stimulates productivity and humor.
Ash's BIO
Ash Willeby is a queer, quirky neurodivergent writer/gamer, currently living in Austin. Ash sees the
humor in everyday situations and loves writing grounded hard comedies with memorablewomen characters who are unapologetically themselves… especially whenthey’re assholes.
Ash has worked on set, but has more love and patience for the writing side. She has been a Semi-Finalist at AFF,
and was part of a writer's room for Sparxs Studio's comedy series TEQUILA.
Sandi's BIO
Sandi is a corporate trainer for a Fortune 500 company. She enjoys flexing her creativity by brainstorming, and is the first to throw out a solution to any problem. She loves to take traits such as empathy and kindness, and showcase them as strengths. She has been a Semi-Finalist at AFF for a comdy feature, as well as had two comedy pilots second round. For downtime, Sandi highly suggests: a glass of wine, a cult documentary, and kitten snuggles.
